Hello, hello, hello, all you rock ‘n’ rollers all over the world! Welcome to Pittsburgh’s only magazine of commentaries, culture, short stories and topless women.
There is no other way to put this: I lost a day; see what happens when you’re retired and you don’t have a regular job to go to? For some reason, I thought yesterday was Sunday; but today is Sunday…
I should have realized something was amiss because of all the college football games that were on the radio yesterday. I listened to Pitt defeat Louisiana.
Let’s go Pitt!
It wasn’t until this morning that it dawned on me I had lost a day because I couldn’t get the news on the local 24/7 all news station on the radio. The station is only all news Monday through Friday. On the weekend it does promotions and other shows.
Oh, well, I don’t have to do my deep breathing and stretching exercises today (for the second day in a row). But now what do I do with myself?
Do I relax and take advantage of another unexpected rest day by kicking back and assuming my favorite position (flat on my back on the sofa with two fat pillows under my weary head) as I get back to reading the four books that I checked out of the public library last week while I listen to pro-football on the radio (because it is Sunday-the Steelers have a bye this weekend) as I finish off the 1.5-quart container of cookies ‘n’ cream ice cream in the refrigerator and just stay lazy all day long; or do I get some work done (blogging, social media, tweaking this blog behind the scenes)…
What to do? What to do? What to…
Hey, maybe I can do both!
This is Guy Hogan reporting for the Pittsburgh Flash Fiction Gazette.
Today there will be a mix of clouds and sunshine in Pittsburgh with a high around 40.
Hail to Pitt!
