Every flash fiction story does not need dialogue; but most stories do. The thing a new writer must remember is that dialogue is not just talk. The best dialogue does several things.
It reveals information the reader needs to know. It can suggest a character’s agenda. It can help move the story towards resolution.
The best dialogue allows your characters to speak in their own voices which the reader will hear in his or her imagination. And good dialogue adds immediacy to your story.
Dialogue is one of the best tools a flash fiction writer has to make his or her story come alive.
