A passion for writing is critical. Passion will keep a writer writing when nothing seems to be going right. A passion for writing will make a writer work a job that he or she can barely tolerate, just so he or she can keep writing. A passion for writing will make a writer learn the craft of writing.
Passion can sustain a writer for years until the day the writer finally sees his or her work in print. A writer who has passion for writing will find it impossible to stop writing.
This is how important passion is to the success of a writer.
“A writer must survive in order to get his work done.” — Hemingway
Hello, my brother and sister bloggers, poets, readers and writers from all over the world!
In around 70 days submissions will re-open. The Old Soldier has no idea what will happen. I hope I get a lot of submissions in December. The more submissions, the better chance of getting some really good flash fiction and poems for the readers of this blog.
If you’re thinking of submitting flash fiction or poetry, remember you don’t have to write about sex; but sex is always popular.
Pirates Pull Defeat Out Of The Jaws Of Victory
Last night’s baseball game between the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Cincinnati Reds was crazy.
The Reds were down to their last out when they scored three unearned runs in the top of the 9th to win 6-5 in the 10th. Time is running out on the Pirates. They need to win four games to make the playoffs and the team only has eight more games left in the regular season.
The Pirates are cutting it awfully thin.
