Hello hello hello, all my fans who live all over the world with a special shout-out to all my fans who live in Colombia! The blogging day has begun.
What adventures in blogging will we share today?
Let’s start with the weather in The ‘Burgh. Spank my bare bottom and call me a nudist! The forecast calls for a partly sunny day with the high in the 60s. I don’t believe it. It won’t be the first time that a forecast changes during the day. We’ll see.
Seeking Inspiration From Andy Warhol
Last night I found myself surfing the Internet. I was bored. I ended up on YouTube. I watched a couple of short films by Andy Warhol. I consider Andy Warhol one of my spiritual, creative mentors. He grew up within walking distance of my apartment building. But I do get the feeling that at times he was putting all of us on, especially the media. Or rather part of his genius was that a lot of his anti-art allowed the rest of us to give it our meaning.
The short films I watched were anti-films with minimal scripting acted out by actors who were bad actors and of course that was the point; or rather the films were art because the filmmaker said they were art and we could take it or leave it.
And what does any of this have to do with blogging and being a blogger?
Several months ago I watched another video on YouTube of Andy being interviewed. The interviewer asked Andy why he did pop art and Andy said, “It gives me something to do.”
I think he was deadly serious. I mean Facebook, Tumblr and Twitter are his grandchildren. And so is WordPress. Because they all give us something to do. And this blog is a work of art in progress.
And your blog is a work of art in progress, too.
